Mike Salim

Senior Consultant

Mike Salim has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, cybersecurity and compliance, working as a Software Engineer for IBM and other companies in the US and the UK. While at IBM, Mike worked on the National Science Foundation’s NSFNET project as a Software Engineer, to build the original Internet backbone in partnership with IBM, MCI, Merit and the NSF. The NSFNET was the pre-cursor to today’s Internet.

Prior to working at CREO, Mike Salim was the Chief Technology Officer at ADTI, a hosting company based in North Carolina, serving over 1000 commercial and US Government customers. Through his CTO role at ADTI, Mike has directly architected, operated and managed FISMA, PCI, SOC 2 and related compliance for systems of varying sizes under contracts for multiple government agencies, for over 12 years, including for the US Department of Education, DoD, NASA, the State Dept., HHS, VA, and others.

Mike Salim has a MS degree in Computer Science from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY, USA, and a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of London (Imperial College), England. His professional certifications include CISSP, PMP, PE, and EurIng.

Fun Facts: Mike lives in Morrisville, NC with his wife and family, and enjoys and enjoys volunteering with the Town of Cary Police Department, and the Town of Morrisville Smart City Steering Committee.
