Bill’s experience spans more than 25 years, ranging from hands-on engineering and architecture to executive leadership of product and technology organizations at healthcare, life sciences, and high-growth technology companies. He has deep knowledge and firsthand experience in enterprise and software architecture, cloud and data infrastructure, EHR integration, AI engineering and governance, M&A and post-merger integration, and compliance across GxP, HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HITRUST. At CREO, Bill brings technical leadership to the firm’s AI engineering work, applying generative and agentic AI to regulated and non-regulated business processes through fit-for-purpose governance, human-in-the-loop controls, and disciplined agent lifecycle management. Before his engagement with CREO, he served as SVP of Product and Engineering at Babyscripts, a maternal health technology company, where he owned enterprise technology strategy across multiple clinical sites, designed FHIR and HL7 integrations with Epic and Athena, and led the company’s transformation into a tech-enabled services organization. Previously, Bill was CTO at ilumivu, leading product, engineering, and data science teams building healthcare applications and cloud-native data and ML pipelines. Before that, he spent more than five years as CTO at Validic, where he scaled the product technology, architected a next-generation remote patient monitoring platform, and owned HIPAA, ISO 27001, and HITRUST compliance.
Bill’s roots in the Research Triangle run deep. He held technology leadership roles at Digital Turbine, Vocus, iContact, and ChannelAdvisor, where he managed integrations across multiple corporate acquisitions and built the M&A playbooks that guided platform consolidation and vendor rationalization. Across these roles, Bill built and led engineering teams in RTP, Tel Aviv, Costa Rica, and Ukraine. He builds people rather than just platforms, hiring well and coaching deliberately, since a technology strategy is only as good as the organization asked to execute it. Bill measures his own success by whether the teams and clients he works with are stronger than when he arrived.
Bill earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of Maine.
