Akira is a passionate consultant, bringing 20 years of experience serving clients exclusively in the life sciences industry across the US, Europe, and Asia. With a background in biochemistry and a proven interest in the mechanistic details of science, he provides an additional layer of scientific rigor to the strategic insights delivered to his clients. In fact, he still enjoys attending scientific conferences in several therapy areas to stay up to date on the cutting edge of scientific development to provide additional value to his strategic and tactical work.
Over the years, Akira has successfully partnered with functions across the product lifecycle, including marketing, market access, analytics, market research, competitive intelligence, medical affairs, early commercialization, and product launch teams. His scope of experience includes work in oncology, hematology, neurology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, metabolic disease, rare disease, women’s health, and digital health.
Akira is a natural connector and is drawn to exploring how teams connect and work together cross-functionally during the product launch phase. His laser focus on optimizing launch strategy is a result of working across functions as a strategy consultant delivering results and as an in-house staff augmentation consultant. He is a firm believer that no launch is the same and cookie cutter approaches lead to suboptimal results. In his prior role as co-lead of EVERSANA Management Consulting’s Launch Practice, Akira led teams through key product launch milestones and developed a team of consultants to be flexible connectors and innovators in the pressurized launch environment, while supporting highly differentiated product launches into the US marketplace.
Akira graduated from Harvard University with an AB in Biochemical Sciences and from Johns Hopkins University with a MS in Biotechnology.
