Focus Will Be on CREO Strategic Growth, and Solving Challenges Faced by Growth Companies in the Life Sciences and Healthcare Markets
CREO, an innovative management consulting and advisory firm based in Research Triangle Park, today announced its appointment of Jason Burke to the new position of Chief Strategy Officer.

As Chief Strategy Officer, Mr. Burke continues to be part of CREO’s executive leadership team as a senior member with responsibility for growing CREO’s industry strategies, intellectual property, market leadership, new product and services offerings, and business development capabilities. He will also collaborate with CREO’s senior industry consultants in the Strategy & Commercial practice to deliver expert-level client advisory services, market analysis, strategy formulation, thought leadership, innovation advancement, industry engagement, and commercialization activities of prioritized industry segments and practices.
Mr. Burke previously served as Senior Fellow & Director of Corporate Development at CREO. His areas of focus included Analytics & Data Sciences, Data Governance, and Product Strategy & Management.
Mr. Burke has decades of experience in the life sciences field. Prior to joining CREO, he was System Vice President and founding Chief Analytics Officer at UNC Health Care System with responsibility for analytical strategy, R&D, data governance, and consulting services for the $5 billion state-wide health delivery system. Earlier in his career, Mr. Burke was Global Head of Health and Life Sciences Strategy, Research & Development at SAS. Prior to that, he served in strategy and management positions at Microsoft, Quintiles, and GlaxoSmithKline.
Throughout his career, Mr. Burke has built numerous organizations from the ground up, covering functions such as new business strategies and models, product development, information technology, marketing and sales. He is the author of one of the leading books on business analytics in health and life sciences published in 2013 by Wiley, entitled “Health Analytics: Gaining the Insights to Transform Health Care.” Mr. Burke has served as both a founder and advisor to multiple industry and academic think tanks focused on business transformation with emerging technologies, analytics and data sciences. He also designed and taught new curricula in two of the nation’s leading business schools: Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Mr. Burke has appeared in leading business and industry publications including Forbes, Becker’s Hospital Review, Information Management, InformationWeek, Health Management Technology, PharmaVoice, Drug Discovery and Development, and BioIT World.
A cognitive neuroscientist by training, Mr. Burke holds degrees from Virginia Tech and the University of Missouri – Columbia.
